Mission & History
The Family Business Alliance depends greatly on the support of the corporate community and generous individuals. Sponsorship gifts enable the FBA to provide quality programming to members at a relatively low cost, making resources available to businesses of all size, age and industry.

History
The Family Business Alliance began in 1997 as the Family Business Forum at the William G. McGowan School of Business at King’s College. What started with a small group of advisors quickly grew as more family businesses joined from across a wide range of industries.
In 2012, the Forum moved to Wilkes University and became the Family Business Alliance. Today, the Alliance continues to grow regionally, bringing together privately held and family-owned businesses.
While our reach has expanded, our mission remains the same: to educate, support, and connect the locally owned businesses that form the backbone of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s economy and community.
